IOC received award for being "Most Safe Oil Marketing Company" 10 days before fire
 

Quelle: mohamad9 (Allvoices)A blaze broke out at Sitapura industrial area about 20 km from Jaipur at 7.15 pm October 29. 11 people were killed and over 150 injured. Presently, the fire has been doused in ten of the 11 tanks while one tank with a small quantity of petrol is still active. This should also get extinguished soon, the IOC reports.

The factory has suffered massive damages because of the fire.

People living close the depot have been complaining of breathing difficulties and itching in the eyes. The district administration has decided to shut educational institutes in Sitapura for the next days.


Indian Oil received the "Most-Safe OMC award" for 2008-09 10 days before the fire.
